Grace is a burst of light in a room where everyone forgot it was dark.

David Jeremiah, Captured By Grace

Hello Family,

It's been a long time since I've updated everyone about John, so I thought

today I will get to it.... but where do I start???

His cancer of the esophagus and lymph node is in remission... . then he developed complications. ... fluid around his heart and lungs which caused severe shortness of breath... and a feeling of not being able to catch your breath which is very scary! We have gotten that under control with prednisone treatment and we have been to a pulmonary doctor who of course wants to do more tests... they may have to drain the fluid if the pills don't do the job... we appreciate your prayers for that one. Another complication lately.... tooth pain... but the dentist thinks

it is his gums and not his teeth, so he had the teeth/gums cleaned. However, the infection is deep under his bridge so they must do another procedure on July 8th... we appreciate your prayers for this also.

Through this all and with help from God we have managed to stay on course with our daily Bible reading together from our daily Bibles. (some from the Old Testament, some from Psalms, and Proverbs and some from the New Testament) We also read the chapter of Proverbs for each date and 5 Psalms a day (at night).

Now thinking on Psalms.... Psalm 119 is in a class by itself... it is the longest chapter in the Bible 176 verses! And it says so much!!!! Basically... the writer says that even through all his problems, persecutions and unfriendly people, they cannot deter him from focusing on God and His perfect law!!! Oh, that we all could focus that way. But we must not get discouraged. ... because God will bring us back and draw us close to Him again.... God is faithful even if we are not.... the last verse of Psalm 119 says: "I have strayed like a lost sheep. Seek Your servant, for I have not forgotten Your commands."

May God bless you all....

We love you all,

Carol and John
